Healthy Menu

When planning a good healthy menu , consideration must be given to nutrition value of each type of food .
Every member of the family or customers has their own basic nutritional needs depending on age of children , sex and the level of physical activity of the consumers . The menu should also take into consideration the health or medical needs of each person .
So the basic food types are brokendown as :-
Group A - Bread , Rice , Cereal , Pasta
Group B - Fruits and Vegetables
Group C - Meat, Poultry, Fish, Beans, Nuts, Eggs, Dairy products like milk ,Cheese and Yogurt
Group D - Fats, Sweets , Oils

Group A supplies energy food and choice of rice like using brown Rice or wholewheat bread will provide additional nutritious value to the family .
Group B of fruits and vegetables are excellent suppliers of vitamins, irons, minerals and fibres especially the darker the colors the better like broccoli ,carrot , red and yellow peppers ,etc .
Group C with its lean meats or skinless chicken are excellent if they are grilled or baked and using less oil to cook . And best to use health friendly oil in cooking like the olive oil , canola , corn or sunflower oil as they are low in saturated fats . The dairy products are good source of protein and calcium .
The last group of Group D is the least healthy food and should be taken in moderation . They are also low in nutrition value.

For pregnant women and older folks , they should eat more fruits and vegetables , take plenty of water preferably warm water , control their alcohol intake and consume less oil and salt . The most important aspect of good health is to exercise regularly every day and stop smoking .
Good eating and stay healthy .And thank you for visiting www.foodandbeveragepromotions.blogspot.com
